Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido. |
1957 |
Graduated from the Department of Painting (Ren Ito class) at the Tokyo
National University of Fine Arts and Music (the present Tokyo University
of the Arts). |
1959 |
Completed a graduate course at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts
and Music. |

Stayed in France as a foreign student on a scholarship from the French
Government. |
|
Entered the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, studying under Maurice
Brianchon. |
1960 |
Participated in the Salon d'Automne (until 1965). |
1961 |
Participated in the Salon des Nationale des Beaux-Arts. |

Held a solo exhibition at Galerie Saint-Placide in Paris, France. |
1962 |
Participated in the Salon d'Automne, where his work was purchased by the
French Government. |
1966 |
Settled in Tokyo after returning from France. |

Stayed in France for six months as a visiting researcher dispatched by
the then Japanese Ministry of Education. |

Held solo exhibitions at Taimei Gallery and Tokyo Umeda Gallery in Tokyo,
and at Umeda Gallery in Osaka. |
1982 |
Participated in the Exposition internationale du figuratif (until 1984). |

Participated in the 37th Ryukikai Exhibition as a member of its coterie. |
1990 |
Received an Art Award from Nagoya City. |

Participated in the International Watercolor Biennale at the National Watercolor
Museum in Mexico. |

A work exhibited at the Ryukikai Exhibition entitled “Still Life with a
Ukulele, a White Gourd-Melon and Gloriosa” was collected by Aichi Prefectural
Museum of the Arts. |

Received the Grand-Prix Award at the 24th Seiji Togo Memorial Yasuda Kasai
Museum of Art Awards in Tokyo, and held the Kasai Seiichi Exhibition to
celebrate this award. |
